Livestock is common here — keep dogs on a lead near animals and follow signs.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust’s steep-sided limestone valley — a glacial spillway with beech woodland and flower-rich grassland. Dogs on a lead only (sheep graze the reserve); a footpath and bridleway run through it.
Accessibility: Mown grass path with steps to the bridleway; not suitable for wheelchairs or people with mobility difficulties.
Opening: Open at all times; best April to July for the flowers.
From the main entrance a mown grass path with steps drops to the public bridleway; a public footpath crosses part of the valley. The eastern slope is beech wood, the rest limestone grassland with pasqueflower, orchids and rock-rose in spring and early summer. Sheep graze the reserve as part of its management — this is a lead-only walk.
Conditions can change. Keep dogs under appropriate control, close gates, and follow local signage. This is a guide to where to go, not a navigation app.
